Educational Advocate
Advocate for a student’s educational rights
The Youth Villages Educational Department is looking for dedicated volunteers that will advocate for our student's educational rights during the course of the year.
Advocates will receive a 30-minute training session prior to student placement to become certified. The advocate will be notified 14 days in advance, through mail or email, about a child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meeting which they will need to attend (once per year). At this one-hour meeting, the Educational Advocate will be updated on the child's goals and educational progress.
We encourage our Educational Advocates to visit the child on regular basis just to say "hi" and see how they are doing.
